Material hardness testing for metals.Hardness testing is a procedure used measure the resistance to change of a material when a compressive force is applied to it. The hardness of a metal can be changed by a few different processes, with the most common being heat treatment. In our industry we use hardness testing to check conformance to specifications and also to help guide us when assessing material types.
